Winter Fun

I just emptied my camera of pictures from the last January to now. We have done a lot of fun winter stuff. I went to the world cup biathlon with my 5th graders. That was pretty cool. A biathlon is cross country skiing combined with rifle shooting. Kind of a strange combo, but it was fun to watch and apparently a huge sport in Europe. Here are some pictures of the day.







Then that weekend I took the girls to the main street celebration for the biathlon. It was FREEZING, but we had fun.



This past weekend we went up to Fort Kent for the dog sled races. Yes, dog sled races. They are a real thing. It made me want to go watch Iron Will. Dog sleds are something I'd only seen in the movies so it was fun to see the real thing. The girls loved it (especially Halle)! There was a cool ice castle so yes those are solid blocks of ice!
