Where do kids come from?

Today I have been a little snappy with my kids. Maybe the fact that it was 50 yesterday and today we have 3 new inches of snow has something to do with my sour mood. Anyway, Mckenna had some words of wisdom for me.

Mckenna; Mom what's wrong?
Me: I'm not in a very happy mood right now.
Mckenna: Well mom, you shouldn't have ever gone to the hospital and got kids there!

School Online

If anyone is on the fence about finishing school online, I would like to offer my opinion. By the end of this term I will have finished up 21 credits. This is not so much attributed to my wonderful knowledge and ability as it is to the set up of online classes. If you are thinking about an online program, then my advice is to do it!

Spring

Today it hit 40 degrees--warmest day of the year so far. It's so nice to see the snow finally melting. I cleaned out my car today while the girls played on the driveway. It's funny that 40 seems so warm here, but in AZ we would have been snuggled by the fire. I can't wait to take the girls to the park and go for walks, have BBQs, and just sit outside and watch the sun go down. I love the warm!

Suddenly

Mckenna is growing up too fast. Here's what she said to me today.

Kenna: Mom, you're going to miss me when I go to school next year.
Me: Yes I'm going to miss you a lot.
Kenna: It's ok, we can still do fun things on my days off.
Me: Yeah we can
Kenna: Don't be sad cuz I'm still your little baby, mom!

Aprons

A really nice lady at church gave the girls a plethora of little aprons. They have had a lot of fun playing with them. Dress up time is always fun!

To Kate

Of course little apartments don't come with big pantries for you food. My friend let me borrow some much needed shelves to organize my food. This photo is dedicated to Kate. Thank you for the shelves! Can you stand to be in my kitchen now?

THE amen

After reading in the book of mormon reader tonight with the girls, I went to close the book and Kayla said, "is that the amen?" Not THE END, but THE AMEN. just kind of funny huh!?

Mckenna's new word that she loves to use is "seriously." We'll be talking about something and she'll say, "oh seriously, mom?" Growing up too fast!

I need to get some pictures up. Soon, I will!

Piano

A few weeks ago I was given another calling at church to be the ward choir pianist. I love this calling. Playing the piano for me is so relaxing and enjoyable, but it's so nice to have new stuff to work on and be held accountable to play it well. When I first started playing for the choir around Christmas time I then realized how my ability to sight read had deteriorated. In the couple months since then I feel that I'm finally slowly getting back to the level I use to be at when I was practicing on a stricter schedule. I am so grateful to have this ability. It's impact on my life has been unmeasurable, but what's more rewarding is seeing that this ability I have been blessed with has an effect on others as well. (thank you mom and dad)

I started teaching piano again. I only committed to teaching 3 students right now. They are great! I have really missed teaching. I taught for a little more than a year in AZ. I was a little overwhelmed and had to stop after having Kayla. I am thinking about taking on some more students. The demand for teachers is high here. I'll keep thinking about that.

SCHOOL UPDATE: The trick for me the last couple months has been to find the balance between school, and home/family. Balance is so important in life. When I first started my classes I felt like the most horrible mother. I think over the last couple of months though, I have finally found the balance. School is going really smoothly now. I am the busiest I have ever been, but every night I go to bed thinking about how much I accomplished in school, with kids, and the home and I rest easy.
