Basket Ball

Mckenna started basketball this past week. It was pretty fun to watch all the little kids trying so hard. She's one of the youngest/shortest playing, but she was so excited to try and see friends from school. Every time I tried to get a picture, one of the coaches went in front of me and I didn't want to look like one of those mom's who stands in front of everyone to take a hundred pictures of the same thing. As the season goes on I'll get some pictures up of our little ball player.

Our Name!

SO... We finally have picked a name for our baby girl.

HALLE JANE MATHIE

(now if she could just get here!)

We are not sure of the spelling of Halle, so that may change. We don't want any confusion on pronunciation so we may change it to: Hallie or Hally or Hallee--I personally like the normal spelling of Halle, but we'll see on that point.

(Dad, I tried to get Jay as the middle name, but Jason wouldn't concede that it could be girls middle name. Jane was as close as I could get to Jay and I think it sounds pretty good!--Love you!)

Extra Large

Yesterday I was listening to the girls--this was their conversation:

Kenna: Well Kayla, you are the small, I'm the medium, mom is the large, and dad is the extra large.

Kayla: No Kenna, mom is the extra large!

She is appropriately correct! 10 days to the due date!

No Apologies

No apologies for not keeping up on my blogging lately. With all I've had on my plate I'm content with what I've accomplished while neglecting my blogging responsibilities. Yes, it's been a month since I blogged. A lot happens in a month.

We had a great valentines day. Jason took both the girls to dinner and the daddy-daughter v-day dance, and I got to spend a nice quiet evening (doing homework, but not complaining!). The girls had so much fun, they could hardly contain their excitement.

Before the Dance.

After the dance (and some ice cream--daddy's treat)

I have great friends here who threw me a huge surprise baby shower. It's great to have friends that feel like family when you have no real family around. Because it was a surprise, I didn't have my camera darn it!

We made an overnight trip down to Bangor to get some baby stuff and just get out of the house. It was really fun to shop for 10 hours with 2 little kids being 8 1/2 months prego. No, it really was! We don't go down to Bangor--- to all the real stores ---very often so I was determined not to let anything ruin my time there.

As for a baby update: I have progressed at a normal rate and am now down to less than two weeks to my due date (March 3rd). I've been feeling pretty good actually and have been so busy with my kids, school, and church stuff that the time has been flying by. Yesterday my doctor told me that they now offer epidurals so I now have that option. Whether I choose to that route or not is still up in the air. I'm very torn about it and will be thinking about it for the next week. Also on my mind is what to name this baby. Jason has made it clear that he won't budge on the name Zenna so we have been trying to formulate a list together.

So far our list is: Halle, Aida, Alana, Alyssa, and Kylie. I am leaning towards Halle. Which do you like best? or do you have another suggestion for us? Oddly, this is proving to be the most stressful part of having this baby.

It's finally hitting me that I will soon have THREE children and my little family isn't really that little anymore. I have been realizing lately how precious time is. As I watch Mckenna and Kayla growing up I just can't figure out where the time has gone and how they got so old and smart. I know I am having another one, but McKenna, and Kayla will never be their cute little baby selfs again and that's hard for a mom to accept. I'm excited to meet my new baby girl and watch how she develops and grows. I just wish the growing didn't happen so fast.

If I'm lucky I'll find time for a couple more posts before the baby comes, but if I don't--I won't feel bad and I'll report post pregnancy! YAY!
